God, it's so hard to be a nice, generous, supportive person sometimes. I'm thoroughly peeved and frustrated. I rarely enter contests. It's because I don't have a lot of time, I draw traditionally, and I'm not the best artist in the world. When I do enter, it's because I think I have some kind of chance, and because I want practice, and because I love the subject material. I enter because I want to, not because I want the prize or anything else like that. Just want to put that out there.

But when I enter things like this and I'm at the bottom of the poll, losing to people whose art looks like mine did when I was ten. I'm not saying that contests should always go to the "most talented" artist. A lot of what's important is vision and such.

It's just...so frustrating when I always, always end up at the bottom. No matter my skill level in comparison OR my vision.

No wonder I stop coming here for so long.
